Over The Counter Diet Pills Not Tested Or Monitored by FDA

Many people who want to lose weight fast consider weight loss pills as a possible solution, since this means fewer food cravings and the possibility of losing all their excess weight. Weight loss is possible with behavior modification, such as a lower calorie intake and a higher exercise regime but diet pills can reinforce the diet plan and might be the different between success and failure, thanks to their ability to lessen the appetite. But the question remains, are diet pills safe?
There are some weight loss pills that actually are natural or herbal dietary supplements, that help curb the appetite and provide multi-vitamins, and can sometimes psychologically help get a person into a weight loss plan that involves watching the foods they eat, portion sizes, and more exercise.
What about chemical or synthetic pills of the non-natural variety - how safe are those? The FDA do not test and monitor over the counter drugs and they do not have proof of effectiveness of such pills. The exception is Alli which is approved as an effective, over the counter diet pill. A lot of people have heard of the problems associated with the Ephedra pill.
Since over the counter diet pills are not FDA governed and none have been approved apart from Alli, there are no guarantees about side effects or even whether the weight loss pills you buy will work. A lot of over the counter weight loss pills contain caffeine as the appetite suppressant. They do nothing more than drinking a lot of coffee would do for you but at several times the price. Some people are allergic to diet pills or suffer from side effects.
When you are thinking about weight, you may find that you are dealing with a disciple issue, and if this is something that you need to overcome before you lose weight, you'll find that weight loss pills aren't going to effect the large changes that they need to. Remember that claims that a pill will allow you to eat all that you want are largely false in the long run.
It is important to realize that to lose weight, you need to take in fewer calories than you burn, with weight loss pills or without. If you do not lower your calorie intake, a pill is not going to miraculously take the weight off. Weight loss pills can be used as an additional aid, but they should not be taken with other medications without consulting your physician.
The best way to lose weight is by giving your body what it needs to be a healthy weight, such as nutritional and fat burning calories, correct portions, eating a number of times a time to keep your metabolism burning fat, and enough variety to keep you committed to a long-term diet.
When you are looking at weight loss pills, think about how expensive they are and think about what you are really paying for. Especially if you are also taking medicine for your heart or for high blood pressure, think about the act that you need to look after your money.
