In these days and times, a lot of people are feeling like children are not getting the attention they need. Home life, as it were, is completely different than it was for the previous generations. At the same time, raising kids have increased in difficulty. A lot of this has to do with parents spending so much more time working and away from home, feeling they need to make more money to provide more for their family. Because of this, children are often left to take care of themselves and without parental figures around. The result is stacks of problems for kids today. Becoming a parent requires some thought on the adult's part. People don't tend to realize how much effort it takes to parent a child. It actually involves you being there with them and for them, as much as possible. Children need supervision. We can go round and round about the topic of working moms. Looking at the facts, a working mom cannot possible give the kids the attention they need and work. And don't forget that they are expected to keep the home at the same time. That is 3 jobs! And raising kids can count for a huge job. The fact is, moms cannot do it all. It just isn't possible. I love my kids and have found ways to work and still be there with them after school, but for a while I was in the active work force and many times wondered if I had bit off more than I could chew. Personally it seems like a dream come true to have nothing else to do besides raise my kids, take care of my house and bake cookies, but those days are gone forever. And now as a society we need to find a way to be there for our kids and our selves, and still make the ends meet. It is tough to juggle it all, but we perhaps need to look at ways to get back to the basics, cutting our financial needs down to meet our child's emotional needs. Perhaps that is more important then being able to get in the right TV channels.
