If you know of a Shar Pei that is being abused or has been abandoned then you must contact a local Shar Pei rescue centre and get that dog the help it needs as soon as possible. All you need to do is make a phone call but many people do not because they do not know what to expect from a Shar Pei rescue centre. The centre is on the side of the animal and they have created a network of resources that allow them to take care of animals as a professional organization. Some of those pieces of the network are very necessary. It is always a good idea for a local Shar Pei rescue centre to have a good relationship with local law enforcement officials. Sometimes rescuing an animal can get a little dangerous and having the law on their side always helps. It also helps to know who is a habitual animal abuser so that animal rescue can keep an eye on that person as well. However taking the time to watch the work that these people volunteer to do on a daily basis can bring a tear to anyone's eye. Fighting animal abuse can sometimes be heart-wrenching work. Humane people do not let animals suffer and if you know of an abused or abandoned Shar Pei then it is up to you to call a Shar Pei rescue centre. You don't need to get involved, but you do have an obligation to make sure a helpless pet gets a chance at the life they deserve and a rescue centre can help.
